What is Sound Alchemy?

Solfeggio Frequencies and Binaural Beats are basically a tool which falls into the realms of what is known as Sound Alchemy. However, before I elaborate on that I'd like to touch on a few other things. Have you ever wondered how and why music invokes such a wide range of emotional responses from our beings? Has it ever struck you as odd, that something we can only hear, but cannot see (with the exception of waveforms made possible by technology), touch, taste nor smell has such a powerful impact on us? We certainly can feel it, and the reason for that is because music is also essentially sound alchemy; it's just mostly a sporadic form of it.

Sound Alchemy in its truest essence could be described with these two words: focused sound, whereas "music" as we know it today is usually very melodically busy which creates a constant fluctuation of energy, which thereby becomes more of a designed experience that is forcefully bestowed upon you and is almost always led by vocals, versus being able to use Sound Alchemy which is almost always vocally free: no designed vocal concept/theme other than what the music is in itself, allowing for it to be widely open to various personal and intimate interpretations pertaining to each and every unique individual listener.

Solfeggio Frequencies

Solfeggio Frequencies were sound frequencies used in Gregorian chants one of which was the great hymn of St. John the Baptist. The special tones of the Solfeggio frequency were used to unite man with his maker. They did this by undoing all the conditions and conditioning that causes separation from the source, be it physical, mental or spiritual.

The Solfeggio frequencies were so effective that they undermined the power of the Vatican so they were conveniently "lost" and went into oblivion for a very long time. It was due to the inspired Dr Joseph Puleo that the Solfeggio Frequencies were rediscovered. This is explained in the book 'Healing Codes For Tthe Biological Apocalypse' by Dr Leonard Horowitz. Dr Joseph Puleo is a naturopathic physician and one of America's leading herbalists, who began his research of the Solfeggio Frequencies in the mid-1970's. In his examination of the Bible he found in Genesis: Chapter 7, Verses 12-83, that there were a pattern of six repeating codes around a series of sacred numbers, 3, 6 and 9. When he deciphered these using the ancient Pythagorean method of reducing the verse numbers to their single digit integers, the codes revealed a series of six electromagnetic sound frequencies that correspond to the six missing tones of the ancient Solfeggio scale.

The Solfeggio Frequencies contain the six pure tonal notes that were once used to make up the ancient musical scale, until, it has been presumed, they were altered by the Catholic Church and Pope Gregory I, (better known as Gregory the Great), who served from 590 to 604 AD. The Church claims that they have lost 152 of these amazing ancient Gregorian chants, but more than likely, they have been purposely locked away in the bowels of the Vatican archives. One of those sacred chants, however, known as, The Hymn to St. John the Baptist, has re-emerged. It has become known as the most inspirational hymn ever written and features all six Solfeggio notes. Science itself has proven the effect these frequencies have. The Solfeggio Frequencies were tested on water, and they did that by streaming the frequencies, one at a time, freezing the water and examining how its molecular composition changes. They found that the changes were astounding and also beautiful, and quickly made the correlation that we humans are made up mostly of water, and therefore are also receptive to their properties and/or functions.

Binaural Beats

Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered Binaural Beats in 1839, but it was Dr. Robert Monroe who first introduced them to the public in products used to affect brainwave states. Binaural Beats lead the brain into specific states through what is known as the Frequency Following Response.

When two specific rhythms are introduced to either ear with stereo headphones, (for our example, lets say one beat resonates at 220 hz, and the other at 212 hz) the brain will naturally reconcile the difference between the two beats and create its own perceived rhythm that is the difference between the two (in this case it would be 8 hz). As the brain produces this phantom frequency it is then naturally led into the brainwave state corresponding with that frequency. For this example, when the brain resonates at 8 hz, it is producing Alpha waves. Binaural Beats have been shown to effectively lead the brain into Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta states.

Alpha, Theta, and Delta are known to cause deep relaxation, and have also been claimed to produce spiritual experiences, out of body experiences, lucid dreaming, and other esoteric effects. Aside from these perceptual effects, there are also certain physiological benefits that come from visiting certain brainwave states (ie: being in the theta state has been shown to reset the brain's sodium/potassium ratio, and the delta state has been shown to increase production of Human Growth Hormone). Another positive side effect of the brain entraining to Binaural Beats is that it causes the left and right hemispheres synchronize, promoting whole-brain functioning. One of the many advertised benefits of regularly listening to Binaural Beats is that it stimulates the forming of neural pathways between the two hemispheres of the brain, enabling it to more effectively function as a whole, even long after one has listened to a Binaural Beat!
